Welcome to Mocamboo. We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using our Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information: phone number, name, profile photo, and bio you choose to provide.
Messages and content: messages, media, voice notes, and status updates you send through the app.
Contacts (only if you tap “Agree & continue” on the in-app contacts prompt and grant device permission): phone numbers and the names you saved for those numbers in your address book. These are uploaded to our servers to find friends on Mocamboo, show contact names in chats, display status updates from saved contacts, and sync names to linked devices. We do not upload your full contact list to other users.
Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, push notification tokens, and diagnostic logs needed to run and secure the service.
Usage data: general patterns such as feature usage, in line with our legitimate interest to improve the product.

2. How we use information

To provide messaging, calls, channels, updates, and notifications.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To deliver push notifications when you opt in.
To detect abuse, spam, and violations of our Terms.
To improve reliability and fix bugs.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Sharing of information

We may share information only in these situations:

With other users as needed to deliver messages and features you use (for example, showing your profile as you configure it).
With service providers who host infrastructure or process data on our behalf under strict agreements.
When required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

4. Storage and security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we work continuously to reduce risk.

5. Your choices and rights

You can update profile and certain privacy settings inside the app.
You can turn off contact upload anytime in Settings → Privacy → “Sync contacts with server”.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data where applicable law allows.
You can disable notifications in device or app settings.

6. Children

The Service is not intended for children under the age where parental consent is required in your country. We do not knowingly collect data from young children.

7. International users

If you use the Service from outside India, your information may be processed in India or other locations where we or our providers operate.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version in the app and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Policy or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
